Definition of Chord
A chord is a line segment that joins two points on a curve.
The picture shows a chord that joins the points \(A\) and \(B\) on the circumference of the circle.
The chord in the picture doesn't pass through the centre of the circle. Chords that pass through the centre of the circle are called diameters.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
