Definition of Calculate
To calculate something is to work out the answer. We usually use addition, multiplication, subtraction and division when performing calculations, and we often reach for a pencil and paper.
For example, if someone asked you to calculate the cost of 3 chocolate bars, which cost \(\$2.00\) each, the answer would be \(3 \times \$2.00 = \$6.00\).
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms. Students learn a new math skill every week at school, sometimes just before they start a new skill, if they want to look at what a specific term means, this is where this dictionary will become handy and a go-to guide for a student.
