Definition of Coincident

Lines or shapes are coincident if they share all the same points. That is, if they lie on top of each other.

The picture shows two hexagons that are coincident. There appears to be only one, but there are really two - you just can't see the second one because it's on top of the first one.

Description

The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
