Definition of Survey
A survey is a way of gathering information about a small sample of a population, region or object. The data collected in a survey helps you to learn about the entire population, region or object.
You can survey people's opinions about something by asking a sample of randomly chosen people the same collection of questions about that thing.
For example, an archaeologist surveys his or her site by excavating one or more small areas of the site. He or she then draws conclusions about the entire site, based on the objects he or she has found in the small sample areas.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms. Students learn a new math skill every week at school, sometimes just before they start a new skill, if they want to look at what a specific term means, this is where this dictionary will become handy and a go-to guide for a student.
