Definition of Sample
A sample is a small group chosen out of a larger population. The idea is to use the smaller group to find out some information about the larger population.
For example, if you ask 50 randomly chosen people at Market Place about their favourite sporting venue, then the sample is the 50 randomly chosen people, and the larger population is all of the people shopping at Market Place at that time.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
