Definition of Square Metre
A square metre is a metric unit used to measure area.
It is equal to the area of a square with a side length of \(1 \text{ m}\).
We use square metres to measure medium-sized areas such as the floor areas of houses.
We use the symbol, \(\text{m}^2\) for square metres.
For example, the area of Sam's bedroom is \(12.82 \text{ m}^2\).
Description
