Definition of Standard Deviation
The standard deviation of a set of data measures how spread out the data is.
The standard deviation is defined to be the square root of the variance of the data set.
The variance of a data set is the average of the squares of the differences between each value and the mean (average) of the data values.
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
