Definition of Reflection Symmetry

Definition of Reflection Symmetry

Reflection Symmetry is a type of symmetry in which one half of an object is a reflection of the other half.

For example, the butterly in the picture has reflection symmetry.

If you fold the butterfly in half along the dotted line, the two halves will match exactly.

The dotted line is called the axis of symmetry.
