Have you ever noticed that when you add something to a liquid, the level of the liquid rises?

This is called displacement of the liquid (or fluid). It is the amount of fluid that is pushed out of the way to accommodate the object.

In the picture, you can see how much water the plum displaced when it was put into the glass.

Description

The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
