Definition of Day
A day is made up of 24 hours, usually beginning and ending at midnight.
This period was chosen as it is the time it takes the Earth to make one full rotation on its axis.
Sometimes people use the word day to mean the period from sunrise to sunset. They call the rest of the 24 hour period the night (or night time).
