There are a number of essential questions and facts that you need to consider in making a readiness assessment:

  • Does Company have clear strategic course?
  • Does business is healthy enough to meet the expectations of investors and analysts?
  • Evaluating current overall business result.
  • Evaluating how effectively do user focus on and meet customer requirements.
  • Evaluating how effectively user operating.
  • How is the market changing user ready to serve emerging market needs?
  • What kind of issues or concerns have the employees raised? 

There should be many questions to be answered to have an extensive assessments before deciding on whether to go for Six Sigma or not..

  • Implementation Cost on Improvement. 

Project Selection for  Six Sigma

There are generally two ways:

  • Top-down: This approach is linked to business strategies and is aligned with customer needs. The major drawback / weakness is they are too broad in scope to be completed on time.
  • Bottom-up: This approach Black Belts choose the project that is well-suited for the teams capabilities. A major drawback of this approach is that projects may not be tied directly to strategic concerns of the managements receiving little support and low recognition from top.
