Definition of Arithmetic Sequence

Definition of Arithmetic Sequence

An arithmetic sequence is a type of sequence in which each term is formed by adding a fixed amount to the preceding term. The same value is added to each term of the sequence to get the next term. This value is called the common difference for the geometric sequence.

For example,

\( 1,5,9,13,17,21,\dots\)

is a geometric sequence. Each number is \(4\) more than the number before it, so its common difference is \(4\).
