Definition of Vertical Shift
The vertical shift measures the distance a periodic function has been moved vertically from its original position.
In the picture, \(\cos(x)\) has been moved 2 units vertically, so it has a vertical shift of \(2\).
Description
The aim of this dictionary is to provide definitions to common mathematical terms.
