Definition of Unit Price

Nowadays, supermarkets are required to report a unit price for many items they sell.

This is the price per litre, 100 g, kilogram, metre etc of what you want to buy.

For example, the 4 litre bottle of bleach in the picture costs \(\$3.60\). Its unit price is \(\dfrac{\$3.60}{4 \text{ litres}} = \$0.90\) per litre.
