Definition of Baker's Dozen | SubjectCoach

A baker's dozen consists of \(13\) objects. There are \(12\) objects in a normal dozen.

The term comes from medieval times when a baker could be fined if the items he sold didn't weigh enough. To make sure he wasn't fined, the baker would add an extra bun or cake to each dozen.
