Definition of Normal
A normal to a flat surface, such as a plane, is a line that goes directly away from the surface, at right angles.
Surfaces such as spheres that are not flat have normals too. To find a normal to a point, draw a plane that only touches the surface at that point (called a tangent plane) and draw a normal to the plane at that point.
Description
