Common questions
What word length scrambles best?
Five to nine letters. Shorter words unscramble at a glance and very long ones frustrate. If a list must include short words, turn hints off so they keep a little bite.
Can two children get away with different answers?
Occasionally a scramble has two real solutions, like "melon" and "lemon". Treat it as a delight, not a defect: a child who finds the second word has been paying closer attention than the puzzle.
