Common questions
What sentence length works?
Five to nine words. Shorter snaps back together instantly; longer often has several defensible word orders, which makes marking a debate. Punchy sentences with one clear order are the sweet spot.
My child built a different but correct sentence. Wrong?
Not wrong, interesting. "Slowly the cat crept" and "the cat crept slowly" are both real sentences, and noticing that some words can move while others cannot is a genuine grammar discovery. Accept it, then ask which the author probably wrote.
