About This Experiment

This simulation demonstrates electric fields around point charges based on Coulomb's law. You can adjust the charge magnitude and observe how the electric field strength E = kQ/r² varies with distance from the source charge. Field lines show the direction of force on positive test charges.

Enable equipotential surfaces to see regions of equal electric potential. These surfaces are always perpendicular to electric field lines and help visualize how the electric potential energy of a test charge would vary in the field.
