Hemisphere Formulas
A hemisphere is exactly half of a sphere.
Volume:
$V = \frac{2}{3}πr³$
Curved Surface Area:
$CSA = 2πr²$
Base Area:
$BA = πr²$
Total Surface Area:
$TSA = 3πr²$ (curved surface + base)
Where $r$ is the radius of the hemisphere.
Example:
For a hemisphere with radius 5 units:
- Volume = (2/3) × π × 5³ = (2/3) × π × 125 ≈ 261.80 cubic units
- Curved Surface Area = 2π × 5² = 50π ≈ 157.08 square units
- Base Area = π × 5² = 25π ≈ 78.54 square units
- Total Surface Area = 3π × 5² = 75π ≈ 235.62 square units
