Paper 1, Paper 2 5 marks Difficulty 5

Activity after exponential decay

In a second version of the same nuclear physics investigation, a source in a radioisotope decay log has initial activity \(1450\,\text{Bq}\) and decay constant \(0.042\,\text{s}^{-1}\). Calculate the activity after \(13\,\text{s}\). Use the diagram first, then calculate the requested value. Enter the numerical result and choose the interpretation that matches the nuclear physics meaning.
