Hi Everyone, My Name is Zak. I recently returned from 7 years teaching and living in China. I love teaching language, and during my time as an English teacher I learned valuable skills which are applicable in any language learning environment. Earlier this year I finished compiling 'A Practical Guide to English Instruction' which is the primary text used in the YCT TESOL course (www.youcanteach.com.au). Many ask why learn from an Australian and not a native Chinese-speaker, which is a good question. The biggest reason is that having studied Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language myself, I have had to overcome many of the challenges my students will inevitably face. This unique insight enables me to explain new words, grammar points, idioms etc. in a way that Australians can easily understand, based on my personal experience studying the language.
