I am an experienced high school English teacher currently teaching English from years 7-12 (including HSC Level English). I have been employed as a LAST (Learning and Support Teacher) specifically in the areas of literacy development. Furthermore, I also have extensive experience mentoring GAT (Gifted and Talented Students). Prior to this, I have coached students for a number of years, offering tuition that focuses specifically on areas such as HSC Examination preparation throughout Grades 11 & 12. I also provide tuition for students in critical areas such as: comprehension, essay writing and the correct use of language conventions including spelling, punctuation and grammar. Other target areas include the development of analytical and creative thinking, particularly in teaching students to decode texts. This includes the study of both visual literacy and various text types. My current students range in age from primary level to adults wishing to improve their general literacy skills. I also provide tuition for those GAT students preparing for selective school testing or those undertaking their IB or equivalent accelerated learning program. Teaching is my passion and I love to help students to discover their true potential!
