The Otorohanga Kiwi House & Native Bird Park has been breeding Kiwi since 1971. The not-for-profit wildlife park displays Kiwi birds with all day, close up viewing in specialised nocturnal houses. And it breeds rare & endangered native NZ wildlife. Open daily 9.00 am - 5.00 pm (Closed Christmas Day) Keeper talks & feeding displays throughout the day: Kiwi feeding 10.00am, 1.30 pm & 3.30 pm, Kea & Kaka feeding 11.00 am, Kakariki feeding 12.00pm, Longfin eel & whio (blue duck) feeding 2.30 pm. The family-friendly Park features native plantings, nocturnal houses for Kiwi viewing, ponds, wetland areas and walk-through aviaries. Open daily, except Christmas Day. All ticket sales are reinvested in the Park's wildlife and conservation work.
