I am a final year Media and Communications student at Sydney University with a Distinction average. I attended Pymble Ladies’ College where I received an ATAR of 98.55 and I have just returned from study abroad at Georgetown University in Washington DC with an A-level average. At a Preliminary/HSC level, I am available to tutor English, Modern History, Legal Studies, Study Skills/General Revision and Public Speaking. At a Primary school level, I am available to tutor all subjects. My strength is English (up to Extension 2) across the board. I have formulated a set of tutoring programs for problem areas such as essay writing and grammar which I have found to be particularly problematic in certain age groups. My philosophy when tutoring is to work towards a 'bigger picture' goal whereby (after assessment) we will pick a skill set to improve upon and reach tangible results that will enhance their foundational knowledge and push them beyond what they are doing in class. Whilst I am always happy to plan for, and review assignments, I try to avoid simply doing students' homework with them in sessions. I also have experience tutoring Speech and Drama with all ages as well as ESL.
