I offer tuition in a public space, as well as IM and phone support for additional questions (at no extra charge, obviously!). I am currently available at basically any time other than around 12~3PM on Saturdays (I currently have regular students at those times) and prohibitively early or late times, and am willing to keep specific areas of my schedule free for your convenience. I offer college level tuition for maths, physics, and any IT-related subject, as well as university-level tuition for computer science subjects and first-year university-level tuition for maths and physics subjects. My philosophy when it comes to teaching is to make the material as engaging as possible and foster an interest in the subject. I personally find all of the above subjects fascinating and greatly enjoy bringing that passion to a teaching setting. I will generally ask for a more specific area of tuition based on what the student is currently learning in any courses they are undertaking and then use my own knowledge to explain (relatively informally) the workings of their course content, followed by a few token examples to ensure that an understanding is reached. In future sessions, I will spend a few minutes double-checking that understanding and performing a quick review if necessary. If assessment is coming up for the student, I will also cover exam technique and offer general assessment pointers and encouragement, or in the case of assignments guide the student through the assessment piece without providing any answers. In general, I aim to give students the skills to find methods, answers and understanding themselves rather than simply telling them how to do things.
