Hokitika Museum
An audio-visual experience provides an excellent introduction to the West Coast’s history while our exhibitions tell stories of tangata whenua, the gold-rush, the challenges of transport and the development of Westland. Highlights are displays of pounamu taonga, a giant Mecanno dredge and regularly changing art and special interest exhibitions in our gallery plus a quiz for children.
Summer hours (Nov-April) are 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. 7 days a week
Winter hours are 10.00a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Monday 7 days a week.
Admission charges: adults $5, school children $2.50, under five years old are free.
