Rangimarie Beachstay
Rangimarie Beachstay
Anaura Bay is singled out as one of the most stunning of the East Coast beaches with golden sandy beaches and a backdrop of extensive native bush. The area is steeped in history – descendants of the famous Maori chief Hauiti lived in the area in the 17th Century.
A plaque marks the second New Zealand landfall of Captain Cook –when the Endeavour berthed in Anaura Bay the local Maori welcomed Cook and his men warmly.
Rangimarie covers 2.5 hectares, sweeps down to the safe sandy beach and is bordered on one side by a DoC native bush reserve.
All rooms have private decks with sensational views of the Bay and sunrises.
Accommodation is either hosted (B&B) in Rangimarie House or self-contained in Rangimarie Cottage.
