Located in the centre of town, we are only meters from the Martha Mine pit rim walkway which is a rolling trail with spectacular views of the working mine. Ride along the spectacular Karangahake gorge section of the Hauraki Rail Trail, visiting the Victoria Battery and Tramway Museum. Follow the trail through the 1100m long tunnel to explore the old gold workings at the Karangahake reserve or take a walk up to the Windows Walkway. Scenic photo opportunities are abundant along the way. On the return journey you can stop into the Goldfields Railway, where you can load your bikes on to an open wagon and take a scenic ride back up to Waihi Railway Station. The Hauraki Rail Trail is a grade 1 ride ideal for people of all ages and abilities.
